Dive Information
Dive Overview
Triton Bay is one of the three regions that comprise the Bird's Head Seascape with Raja Ampat and Cenderawasih Bay. It is now considered by marine biologists to be the epicenter of the Coral Triangle, containing more fish and coral species than anywhere else. Diving in Triton Bay is a world-class experience that only a few divers know about. It has been calledthe next frontier of Indonesian diving and the last best place.
The area already has over 30 dive sites and has many more yet to be discovered. The dive sites can contain pinnacles, shallow soft coral gardens, huge boulders draped in colorful corals, and nearly everything in between. There are also opportunities for critter hunting. Triton Bay's soft coral have been gaining attention recently, with some suggesting that it rivals Fiji, the soft coral capital of the world.
Triton Bay is also home to most, if not all, of the marine creatures found in other parts of Indonesia. Whether it be pygmy seahorses or whalesharks, the region has it all. Pods of dolphins and marlin have also been spotted near traditional fishing bagans. In addition, the region also boasts a number of species that can be found nowhere else.

Outstanding experience! The diving is superb. The dive operation has clearly been designed by seasoned divers and underwater photographers. Great attention to detail in organizing, rinsing, and storing scuba and camera gear. The location is idyllic, accommodations more than comfortable, food delicious, and the staff fantastic. Will go again, only next time for 2 weeks!
