We had the pleasure of visiting Waidroka Bay Resort in September. Everything about the resort reflects Fiji: the friendly staff, the food, the bures, the scenery. You are wecomed as a member of the village. We stayed in a deluxe bure which looks out on the ocean. It was very spacious and comfortable. Meals are served in the main building. Food is plentiful and tasty, offering both Fijian and Western options. We had the opportunity to participate in Fijian lovon night which included a kava ceremony, all prepared and presented by the staff. There was music and dancing and a lot of laughter and fun.The diving here is wonderful. There are lots of beautiful soft corals, fun pass through formations, and an unforgettable shark dive. The dive staff was fantastic. They are knowledgable. helpful, expierenced, friendly and just a lot of fun.Waidroka Bay Resort is perfect for the diver that wants to experience the local life both above the water, as well as below. It is for the person who wants to experience Fiji.

Fantastic. Beautiful, easy, warm comfortable, mindful. Not fancy and not luxurious but just terrific in my mind and great for scuba divers. I am not a surfer but I am told its great for surfers as well. Meals with other guests and management were terrific and fun and interesting. I was there specifically for the Shark diving at Beqa Lagoon - what an experience and I would not have believed it if i had not seen it myself. Literally had to fend the bull sharks off from bumping into my camera. If you are an underwater photographer and go to Fiji then spend the extra 2 days or so to make the dive - it was amazing and the folks at Waidroka handled the diving with ease and great care - I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I traveled to Fiji in October. The second week of my trip was spent at Waidroka Bay. This is somewhat of a rustic resort, perfect for divers and surfers. We had an ocean view bure with king-size bed, air conditioning, large bathroom, and mini-refrigerator. The staff is super friendly and they greet you with a big smile and an enthusiastic “bula” each time they see you. We had a meal plan which provided 3 meals per day. Breakfast and lunch were prepared to order and dinner was a fixed menu. The food was very good and plentiful. We had a Fijian lovo night complete with a kava ceremony presented by resort staff, who all joined in. The festivities went late into the evening. The resort celebrated Fiji Day a few days late due to their party supplies and special t-shirt’s being delayed. Lucky for us, we were able to celebrate the holiday twice in just a few days. The dive center is modern and well-stocked with rental gear. The dive boat was very comfortable and took us to the dive sites with ease. The dive staff was very experienced and knowledgeable. The diving was at both Beqa Lagoon and the local reefs. I found the diving on the local reefs to be just as enjoyable as the Beqa reefs. The world-famous shark dive is incredible and a must for any diver visiting this area. Favorite dive spot: Frigates Wall. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

What a great resort. Stayed there for 3 nights and got all the dives and surf locations we were looking for. Very friendly staff and a relaxing stay while on land and out at sea. They did a detailed job of allowing you to choose which adventures you'd like to do each day. Chef prepared meals were fantastic to come home to after a long day of diving.

Waidroka is a classic spot, nothing too fancy, but it's comfortable and has everything you need. It's an intimate setting, everyone generally sits down to dinner together. The food is good, the coffee is on and the hammocks are comfortable. It's a super mellow and relaxing vibe through the day. There's no beach for swimming, but they do have a pool. The dive sites are all within 20-30 minutes from the resort. All good diving is done in the morning so don't plan on 4-5 dives a day. The Beqa Lagoon shark dive also runs through this resort, but be sure to book in advance. It's a quiet, picturesque resort with clean rooms, great diving and good surf.
