Trip Type
This trip is a DIVE TRIP WITH PHOTO SUPPORT. It will be led by an experienced photographer who is available to provide ad hoc guidance on all elements of your photography, as needed. While this trip will provide an abundance of photo opportunities, there are no planned tutorials or instructional workshops. If you would like more formal photography instruction, check out our Photography Workshops. Our Dive Trips with Photo Support are a great option for photographers and non-photographers, alike.

About Odyssey Adventures Liveaboard
Explore Truk Lagoon's famed "Ghost Fleet" from this 132’ air-conditioned live-aboard vessel with its spacious rooms, and extensive technical and photo dive facilities. The Odyssey boasts nine large, luxurious staterooms all fully carpeted with private air conditioning controls, windows or large portholes, and private toilet, shower and sink all in every stateroom. Seven of the staterooms are equipped to easily accommodate two single travelers in twin beds or a couple in a spacious king-size bed. Also available are two staterooms for single travelers only – they have all the features of the double staterooms and easily accommodate the single traveler in a twin bed. All staterooms have access to the onboard entertainment system with a 32" monitor. Staterooms are cleaned daily.
Flight Information
Guests should fly in/out of Chuuk Airport (TKK) - we recommend planning to arrive several days in advance of embarkation day as delayed/cancelled flights are not uncommon. For extra nights in Chuuk, we recommend L5 Hotel, Truk Stop, or Blue Lagoon.
Traveling from the US
From the US, flights route through Honolulu (HNL) or Guam (GUM) where you transfer onto the United island-hopper service to Chuuk.
Traveling from Europe/Asia
From Europe and Asia, flights route through Manila, Tokyo, or Seoul and then on to Guam (GUM) to pick up the United Airlines island hopper.

Flight Package
Our group trips attract guests from all over the globe and many of our customers prefer to book their own flights to take advantage of mileage points or credit card discounts. For these reasons, flights are not included in our group trip packages.
However, we are more than happy to work with you to find the best travel itinerary for your trip and will gladly give suggestions and advice, even if you make the final booking. We will check through your travel reservations at any time to ensure they fit with the trip schedule and can give recommendations on transit hotels and day tours where needed.
If you would like us to book flights, hotels, and transfers for your domestic and/or international travel on your behalf, we are also happy to arrange this. Please be advised that there is a 10% fee for this service to cover our booking and administration costs.

About The Trip Leader
Nirupam Nigam is a dedicated underwater photographer and fisheries scientist. While growing up in Los Angeles he fell in love with the ocean and pursued underwater photography in Southern California's Channel Islands. He received degrees in Aquatic and Fisheries Science and General Biology, as well as a minor in Arctic Studies, at the University of Washington. He spent some time as a fisheries observer on fishing vessels in the Bering Sea and North Pacific, collecting data for NOAA. When he is not at sea, he is traveling with his wife and taking photos.
