More information about Caribbean diving
The Blue Hole in Belize is one of the world’s most famous dive sites, renowned for its massive underwater sinkhole that stretches over 400 feet deep and 1,000 feet wide. While the dive is primarily known for its geological features, such as large stalactites and an eerie, deep blue descent, it doesn't offer the same vibrant marine life as other dive sites in Belize. Instead, divers may spot sharks like Caribbean reef sharks, blacktips, and occasionally hammerheads at depth.

Turneffe Island Resort absolutely exceeded my expectations. It is a small resort on a private island. Guests come and go only twice a week so you get a chance to know everyone you are staying with! The rooms are gorgeous with amazing showers that are perfect for after a long day of diving. The meals are served family style and they are more than accommodating for special diets (I am vegan). The food was delicious. The diving was easy - quick shore dives with surface interval back at the resort. Saw everything from dolphins (while on scuba and underwater!) to turtles. They do the Blue Hole trip once a week.

Travelling during the pandemic was a bit scary however the resort was so wonderful we all felt safer there than at home. They are meticulous about every safety detail. The food was amazing and we still are missing that bell ring for "come and eat". We never saw another dive boat until the day we went to the Blue Hole. They made sure we were the first in so the silt was not stirred up and the beach lunch was super fun.The diving was beautiful and the trips to the reefs were short. Great time had by all!
