Dive Overview

Diving the Philippines means access to a wide assortment of marine environments, such as coastal reefs and steep walls and pinnacles. The M/Y Resolute places divers amongst beautiful corals and a plethora of wildlife. Whale sharks frequent many of the dive sites.

From March to June she journeys to Tubbatahathe gem of diving in the Philippines, providing guests with five days of diving in the UNESCO heritage sites atolls and reefs. During the cooler months of July to October, the M/Y resolute navigates around the island of Cebu, treating divers to whale sharks, thresher sharks, and colorful critters. The ship then moves on to the second largest contiguous reef in the worldApo Reefoffering hammerheads, reef sharks, barracudas and other pelagics. For the rest of the year she sets up in the Batangas area, making weekly trips to Verde Island Passage and Puerto Galera from her home base in Anilao.

TUBBATAHA REEF

The Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park (TRNP) is widely acknowledged as the apex of Philippine Diving. Divers come here for the incredible corals, huge schools of fish and the chance to see lots of sharks and manta rays. Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park is both a National Marine Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and was nominated recently as one of the new 7 wonders of nature. There are only 2 small islands in the park, both of which are off-limits to visitors. This is also one of the last places in Asia with guaranteed shark sightings on almost every dive. Expect to encounter white tip, grey reef, nurse and hammerhead sharks. Here's a sample itinerary:

  • Day 1: Arrival in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
  • Transfer from the airport to M/Y Resolute. Early arrivals will have the chance to do some last-minute shopping and lunch in the city. Service starts with a welcome drink and a boat briefing followed by dinner before departure to Tubbataha Reefs. The ship will lift anchor at approximately 5-6 pm.
  • Day 2: Arrival in Tubbataha early in the morning. One diving day includes 4 dives.
  • Day 3-5: Diving days in Tubbataha.
  • Day 6: Departure late afternoon for Puerto Princesa.
  • Day 7: Arrival early morning in Puerto Princesa. Breakfast will be enjoyed before transfer from M/Y Resolute to the airport.

Excellent crew. Extremely accommodating and approachable and providing everything you would need for a fantastic dive trip. Fun and safety were paramount to the team with this being the first trip I have been on where 2 dive masters were provided per dive. Boat and food were great and the marine environment was fantastic. Fortunately we had some luck with the wildlife with masses of schooling fish, turtle, reef sharks (lots), Manta and whale shark. Ernesto and team deserve high praise.
