The main focus of this trip is to photograph the majestic giants, the blue whales. Alongside these magnificent creatures, divers can also often encounter other large marine life such as whale sharks, manta rays, and various species of sea turtles. You might also spot eagle rays, reef sharks, and even the occasional dolphins in the clear, warm waters.

Sample Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival in Paradise
  • Arrive at the Indian Ocean archipelago where the adventure begins.
  • Transfer to a serene 4-star hotel nestled along the picturesque coast. Unwind with a welcome drink and soak in the tropical ambiance.
  • Spend the evening at leisure, perhaps exploring the local cuisine or enjoying the hotels amenities.
  • Day 2: Setting Sail on the Sea-Bird
  • Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel before boarding the luxurious Sea-Bird, your home for the next nine days.
  • Receive a warm welcome from the crew, followed by a safety briefing and an introduction to the ships facilities.
  • Set sail as you dine on deck, watching the sunset over the Indian Ocean.
  • Days 3 to 11: In Pursuit of the Blue Whales
  • Engage daily in thrilling free diving sessions and blue whale watching expeditions guided by marine experts.

  • Day 12: Farewell to the Sea

  • Return to the port and disembark from the Sea-Bird. Transfer back to the hotel for some rest.

  • Day 13: Leisure and Departure Preparations
  • Spend your last day at leisure perhaps enjoy a soothing spa day at the hotel or a casual stroll along the beach.

  • Day 14: Homeward Bound
  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel.

Weather Conditions

In March, this destination offers warm, tropical weather with air temperatures ranging from 79F to 86F (26C to 30C) and water temperatures ideal for diving at around 81F to 84F (27C to 29C). Expect calm seas and good visibility of 50 to 100 feet (15 to 30 meters), with only occasional brief rain showers that rarely affect diving conditions.
