Bluewater Photo Workshop Aboard the Raja Ampat Aggressor

Words & Pictures by Vijay Raman

Just back from an incredible photo workshop in the remote and pristine reefs of Raja Ampat. Fifteen guests and myself spent 10 days aboard the Raja Ampat Aggressor, diving and photographing some of the most vibrant and untouched reefs around.

Not only were we treated to reefs so dense that there was often rarely a place to put a finger down to steady for a photo, we also found a profusion of schooling fish, from barracuda to batfish to baitfish.

A few sites offered us amazing encounters with mantas rays, sharks and turtles. There was also a vast diversity of fish and invertebrates to keep the macro photographer happy, shooting pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs and portraits of the many reef fish. Following is a small representation of the beautiful marine life we encountered on our holiday journey to Raja Ampat, West Papua, Indonesia.
