Fiji Aggressor

The best part of diving Fiji on the Aggressor boat was that it limits the number of guests to just 10. My daughter and I booked and our boat sailed with only 7 divers! That was a great surprise. Of course the diving was spectacular, Fiji is, after all, the soft coral capital of the world. In typical Aggressor style, the food is excellent and the crew goes out of its way to entertain the guests, right down to the Kava ceremonies after dinner on board and, in a local Village one afternoon. Fiji is breathtaking above and below the water and this is definitely a bucket list destination for every diver! Oh, did I mention that the Aggressor only books 10 guests? Exclusive, luxurious and memorable!

French Polynesia

While French Polynesia is well within the tropics, the biodiversity is not as extensive here as you would find further west. That said, sharks are definitely a major draw to Fakarava where Tetumanu Village is located. I dived the grouper spawn with Bluewater Travel and stayed at the Tetamanu Village. We had excellent weather and great diving with superior visibility on in coming tides. While the accommodations are spartan, the food is good and diving can be done straight from the cabana perched on the edge of the pass. Just to see the dozens of blacktip sharks and yard long Mouri Wrasse on the skinny flats right behind the restaurant is worth the trip alone. The grouper spawn is a spectical and I would recommend getting there at least 4 days before the forecasted spawn to make sure you catch the gathering of thousands of grouper.

Diving in the Red Sea

I found the reefs in the Red Sea to be spectacular with the visibility better than any other place in the world I have dived. The Red Sea Aggressor was large and comfortable with excellent food. Amazingly, the price of this trip is the least expensive liveaboard you will find anywhere with all of the amenities of a significantly more expensive trip. This trip has it all from large sharks to rare endemic fish and invertebrates only found in the Red Sea. As a bonus, see the ancient ruins in Egypt at the end of the trip. I will definitely go back and dive there again, it is an underwater photgrapher’s dream destination!
