Fiji is renowned with scuba divers for its nearly unparalleled coral reefs. Jacques Cousteau famously referred to Fiji as the "soft coral capital of the world," and once you enter Fiji's famous dive sites, you will understand why. The Vatu-i-ra marine preserve boasts vibrant reefs exploding with life, and Mellow Yellow Wall has a permanent spot on our list of the Top 20 Dive Sites in the World. Diving in Fiji is a dream for wide-angle photographers, who gladly take on the challenging currents to capture the vivid colors of the reef.
Daily direct flights from Los Angeles to Nadi make Fiji an easy-to-reach diving destination for travelers from the US. While Fiji has numerous dive resorts to choose from, there is only one diving liveaboard operating in Fiji - the Nai'a, a luxurious and modern vessel equipped with a spacious dive deck and a camera room for photographers. Expect warm Fijian hospitality, skilled divemasters, and excellent service as the Nai'a takes you to experience some of the best scuba diving in the world.

Fiji Liveaboard Diving
Embark on a seven- or ten-day journey through Fiji's incredible Bligh Water, where dive sites are selected based on the conditions. On the ten-day itinerary, you'll venture further afoot to explore the reefs in the Koro Sea. Trips embark and disembark at Lautoka, which is a short transfer from Nadi. Diving in Fiji is primarily drift diving in strong currents, so is best suited for more experienced divers and photographers.
Diving Season
Fiji can be dived year-round, however, the conditions vary between wet season (December-April) and dry season (June-October). We love to visit Fiji during the transitional months - November and May. Wet season has calmer seas and lower (but still good) visibility, while dry season sees stronger winds, cooler water temperatures, and spectacular visibility.
- Diving Season: Trips run every month except January, but conditions vary so you'll want to select the month that best suits your personal dive preferences.
- International Airport: Nadi (NAN).
- Water Temperature: Averages 28°C (83˚F) in wet season and 25°C (78˚F) in dry season.
- Wetsuit: Choose an exposure suit that will keep you comfortable based on the water temperature.
- Required Diving Skill Level: With strong currents at most dive sites, we recommend Fiji liveaboards for advanced divers. If you're a beginner or unsure whether diving from a Fiji liveaboard is appropriate for you, contact your travel advisor to make sure that your needs will be properly accommodated during your visit.
