How to Get There 

To get to Dominica, there are multiple options except one, there is no direct flight from outside of the Caribbean. But no need to worry, many options are available. Multiple airlines have daily service to and from Dominica. WinAir, LIAT and Seaborne airlines all resumed their scheduled flights to Dominica after Tropical Storm Erika.

The 39 air-conditioned rooms and suites are perfect for both divers and non-divers, singles or couples as well as families. All rooms are equipped with a private bathroom with shower, direct dial telephone, in-room safe, cable TV, high-speed Internet, and either a terrace or balcony with breathtaking views out to sea. On top of that, all rooms are set up with a mini fridge, coffee/tea maker and ironing facilities for your convenience.

Fully accessible by elevator, these well-appointed rooms offer either two doubles or one king sized bed, with balconies facing the mountains to offer spectacular views of nature. • Palisades Restaurant - One of the islands top restaurants. Our destination dining restaurant combines the finest of local cuisine with the latest twists on international classics, in a fusion of traditional and contemporary flavors.
• Warner’s Bar - Every Monday the legendary managers Rum punch party will be held from 5pm until 11pm. Join the managers and staff and enjoy live music and have a bite to eat from the Caribbean BBQ buffet. On Friday’s the Warner’s Bar host the “Cocktails and Conversation” evening from 5pm until 11pm. A great opportunity to share your experiences with fellow explorers, say goodbye to your favorite dive 
• master or just enjoy a nice drink overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

Dive Overview

• By the time you have been driven across the island from the airport to the hotel you will already be stunned at the sheer rugged beauty of Dominica. These overwhelming sensations of The Nature Island are just a precursor to your introduction to the best half of Dominica: the underwater world!
• The dramatic mountains you have traversed are mirrored in the topography of our underwater dive sites. Cliff faces plunge into the Caribbean Sea and descends straight down 1500 feet (460 meters), pinnacles rise up from the surrounding depths almost to the surface, and volcanic ridges slope off into deep blue water.
• These dive sites are covered in thriving healthy coral reefs and schools of midwater fish like chromis, creole wrasse and sergeant majors. Larger pelagics patrol the outer edges of the reefs and barracudas, turtles and stingrays frequently swim right through dive groups causing delightful photographic chaos.
• Our reefs are made up of volcanic formations of ledges, crevices and swim throughs. These formations give refuge to a myriad of small critters considered rare in other destinations. Seahorses and frogfish are common and almost guaranteed sightings for divers on a weeklong package. Other rarer critters like batfish, flying gurnards, yellowhead jawfish, upside-down jellyfish and flamingo tongue snails can be found if you carefully search the reefs.
• Our reputation as the region’s most colorful diving is due to the profusion of sponge life and crinoids. First time divers in Dominica will be amazed at the variety of color, from yellow tube sponges, azure vase sponges, pink vase sponges, green finger sponges, lavender rope sponges to crinoids of every hue.
• You might think that Dominica’s multitude of rivers and lush interior would lead to limited visibility, but once again Dominica defies logic. Due to our very deep waters close to shore and heavy sediments from our volcanic sands, our visibility averages over 80 feet (24 meters) year round. After heavy rains, the sediments subside within hours and you can be back in the water enjoying good visibility.
• Water temperatures vary from a high of 84 degrees Fahrenheit (29 degrees Celsius) from July through December to 76 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius) from January through June. The windy season is around April. Our rainy season is in the summer months from July to September. Despite the possibility of tropical storms during these months, the weather is often dominated by flat calm seas, sunny skies and perfect diving conditions!
• The reality is that there is no bad time of year for diving in Dominica. Good visibility, warm seas, excellent marine life along with uncrowded dive sites and excellent dive staff ensure that most divers simply cannot wait to come back.

• With the extensive knowledge, resources and facilities of Dominica’s top dive operation, Fort Young Dive provides divers with the utmost personal attention to ensure an unforgettable underwater experience. For those who would like to begin scuba diving or continue their dive education, there are experienced dive instructors ready to assist you and improve both your skills and knowledge. And with a wide array of nearby dive sites, accommodating both beginners and deep sea thrill-seekers, Fort Young Hotel offers matchless access to, as we say, the wonder of down under.
• The dive operation consists of a fully-stocked dive retail shop, teaching facilities, rental gear room, rinse tanks, camera tables and outdoor showers—all located dockside for convenient boat access. Fort Young Dive’s boats depart multiple times a day to the island’s various dive sites and can easily accommodate both divers and crew with a spacious deck, dedicated camera table, dry storage, fresh water shower, head and large rinse buckets. 
• Fort Young Dive also offers a unique resort diving experience, making it convenient and comfortable for guests to make a splash at any time of day. Tanks are provided on the dock for the guests of Fort Young Dive on Dominica.
• Before going on your first boat dive you will receive a mandatory dive orientation in which you will fill out the necessary paperwork but also receive all the information that is needed to have a pleasant week of diving. Afterwards a check-out dive in front of the dive shop will make sure you and your equipment are in sync.
