Lembeh October 2018 Trip Report

It had been a few years since Bluewater Photo ran a workshop in Lembeh, the ever popular macro destination located in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Trip co-leaders, Matt Sullivan and Erik Lukas had been brainstorming workshop ideas with a focus on macro photography, and after some internal discussion with the Bluewater Travel team, it was decided that a return to Lembeh would happen....

2018 Sea of Cortez Trip Report

In July-August 2018, Craig Dietrich led photo workshops in the Sea of Cortez. Highlights included diving with sea lions, snorkeling with whale sharks, and nightly photo seminars. The Rocio del Mar liveaboard provided excellent service and accommodations, enhancing the overall experience for divers and photographers.

Spring 2018 Anilao Trip Report

In April 2018, Erik Lukas led two 10-day macro photography workshops at Crystal Blue Resort, Anilao. Participants enjoyed 36 dives, image reviews, and workshops. Highlights included frogfish, nudibranchs, and blackwater dives. The trip concluded with a photo competition, showcasing significant improvements in attendees' skills.

2018 Truk Lagoon Trip Report

The Truk Lagoon photo workshop, held from February 25 to March 4, 2018, offered divers the opportunity to explore WWII wrecks in depths ranging from the surface to beyond 200 feet. Highlights included diving on the Kiyosumi Maru, Yamagiri Maru, I-169 Sub, and Shinkoku Maru, with rich history, artifacts, and excellent underwater photography opportunities. The trip was well-organized by the Odyssey staff and featured spacious accommodations, calm conditions, and personal photo seminars.

We embarked on an unforgettable journey aboard the Waow in Indonesia, recounting our smooth travel experience from LAX to Denpasar, Bali. Our flights with China Eastern were comfortable, despite a minor glitch during online check-in. Upon arrival, we were awestruck by the Waow, a handcrafted ship steeped in Indonesia's pirate history. The liveaboard exceeded our expectations with spacious accommodations and exceptional diving opportunities, showcasing diverse marine life across Alor and Lembata. We relished encounters with rare species and enjoyed luxurious amenities, making it a trip of a lifetime for diving enthusiasts.
