Iberostar Cozumel
I went with a group of divers and nondivers and we spent a week at the Iberostar Hotel in Cozumel. We booked 19+ dives over 5 days. The resort was amazing. The staff were friendly and very helpful, always interested in getting us anything we needed. The rooms are in individual buildings with four rooms to a building - two up and two down and each has separate, private entrances. The rooms clean, quiet and very comfortable. The food was fantastic with a huge variety of options to suit all needs. There is a large, buffet style eating area for lunch and dinner, three restaurants that rotate nights, a separate small food pavilion and bar closer to the beach. All eating options were included in the price of the stay, as were all beverages - no limits. The facilities were clean, safe and careful - with an eye towards COVID risks. The hotel offered free COVID testing within 72 hours of departure to meet US re-entry requirements. At the time they also offered free 10 accommodations if anyone tested positive.
The scuba diving with Dressel Divers was fantastic. I was a newer diver and by boyfriend had never dove. He did the Discover Scuba and was so comfortable with it that he is going to pursue certification. I worked with the DM on my diving skills (buoyancy) and other improvements, even during our group dives. The undersea life (macro and micro) were amazing and the coral was in wonderful condition. There are enough sites to dive that we weren't always at the same ones and the depth and variety (swim throughs, wreck, etc) were great!
We will be going back there and with some of the deals going on right now it may be in the next few months!
