How to Get There

There are several ways to reach Tofo from Johannesburg or Maputo. Guests can catch a connecting flight from Maputo to Inhambane with LAM airline, with taxi arrangements available from Inhambane to Tofo for 1700 meticais. Alternatively, they can stay overnight in Maputo and take Fatima's bus from Fatima's Nest Backpackers Hostel at 5am. While flying is more comfortable, it is significantly more expensive. Regardless of the chosen method, travelers can expect to arrive in Tofo around 3pm the day after arriving in Maputo.

Guests can also choose to avail of airport transfers provided by the resort which usually takes about 20 minutes.

The Tofo Scuba & Tilak Lodge offers a variety of comfortable accommodations to suit different needs. The Triple Ensuite with air conditioning accommodates up to three guests with three single beds or one king bed, and there are six such rooms available. The King Ensuite with air conditioning is perfect for two guests, featuring two single beds or one king bed, with six rooms available. For larger groups, the Buddy Rooms are ideal, accommodating up to eight guests with eight single beds, or up to six guests with six single beds. These rooms offer ample space and comfort, and there are two of each type available.

Located 400 to 500 meters down the beach, the Tofo Scuba Dive Center stands out as a premier destination for diving enthusiasts in Mozambique's vibrant waters. As a PADI 5 Star Gold Palm resort located in Tofo, the center offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses from introductory Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) to advanced Divemaster training. Staffed by experienced PADI instructors and DOT-certified skippers, the center ensures safe and expertly guided dives.

The center's fleet includes three 8.4-meter RIBs equipped with twin 100Hp engines and essential safety gear such as radios, GPS, and medical oxygen, adhering to rigorous South African Department of Transport regulations. A state-of-the-art filling station features Bauer and Nuvair compressors, facilitating efficient air and Nitrox fills up to 40% O2. With over 90 meticulously maintained Scuba Pro equipment sets and the region's only heated training pool, Tofo Scuba Dive Center combines comfort with top-tier facilities.
