A Brief Bio:
Maria is based in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico—for now, at least, until the diving travel bug bites again! She began diving in 2010 when a summer job in Honduras during her university years in Canada sparked her passion. What started as a temporary role soon turned into a full-time career in the Mayan Riviera, Mexico, where she worked at various resorts. Over time, she became a full-cave diver and eventually a dive shop owner and manager. Fluent in Spanish, English, and French, Maria is passionate about photography and prefers warm-water diving.
She has managed marine conservation and research sites in Honduras, Cuba, and Croatia, where she taught hundreds of students buoyancy skills, photography techniques, and safe diving practices for marine surveys. Maria has also conducted research dives in Indonesia and Mexico.
