M/V Plancius
This is a great boat for any Arctic and Antarctic expeditions. The outside might look a little dated, but the inside of the vessel is very well maintained.
It is not the largest boat in the fleet so there aren't so many guests on board which is nice when doing landings. The cabins are decent sized but are well organized so guests have a lot of space. the superior cabins are very nice and large.
Protip: Upgrade to a cabin with a window as the views out the window alone are worth the price of the upgrade.
The lounge area is massive and well designed with lots of TVs for the many lectures given by the crew.
The dining area is also well laid out to accommodate all the guests. Food was excellent as well, and all kinds of dietary restrictions were catered to.
The dive area is at the bow of the boat which makes gearing up and getting onto the zodiacs easy.
The zodiacs are comfortable and easy to get in and out of.
One of the best things about the boat is the crew. Every single one of the expedition crew is so passionate about their job and it really makes the trip so much more enjoyable.
