Dive Overview
The Sea of Cortez and Socorro are both popular scuba diving destinations located in Mexico.
The Sea of Cortez, also known as the Gulf of California, is a UNESCO World Heritage site that boasts a diverse marine ecosystem. It is home to over 5,000 species of marine animals, including whale sharks, sea lions, manta rays, hammerhead sharks, and many more. The Sea of Cortez is known for its clear water, abundant marine life, and unique geological formations, making it a favorite among scuba divers and snorkelers.
Socorro, on the other hand, is an archipelago located in the Pacific Ocean, about 250 miles off the coast of Cabo San Lucas. It is known for its large marine animals, including whale sharks, humpback whales, dolphins, and several species of sharks, including the famous giant oceanic manta ray. Socorro diving is known for its strong currents and deep waters, which can make it challenging for novice divers, but exhilarating for experienced ones.
