Location
The Komodo Sea Dragon is linked to the Komodo Resort. The liveaboard mainly operates in the Komodo National Park and the Alor archipelago. Depending on the itinerary, the vessel will depart from Labuan Bajo or Kalabahi.
Dive Overview
There is an amazing and huge variety of fishes, breathtaking and untouched coral reefs, big fish hunting actions, and pelagic fishes at nearly every dive site around the Komodo National park. You will also be able to observe numerous whitetip and blacktip reef sharks and with a little bit of luck, you can encounter bigger sharks like the Grey Shark and the Hammerhead Sharks!
You will be able to dive remote dive sites that daily trips can’t reach. You will discover the beauty of the South of Komodo and its legendary dive sites such as 3 sisters, and hopefully, meet the Blue Whales sometimes spotted from the boat in South Komodo!

Komodo sea dragon Accommodation Overview
The boat has a total of 6 cabins for guests to choose from. There are 4 luxurious Double Cabins which are 23 square meters and equipped with a 4 square meter private balcony and seating area. The cabins are equipped with double mattresses and a day bed. The Main Twin Cabin is 18 square meters, outfitted with 2 single mattresses and complete with large windows for an amazing ocean view. The Second Twin Cabin is 15 square meters and also comes with single mattresses and large windows. All cabins are fully air-conditioned and come complete with an ensuite bathroom, a spacious wardrobe, a writing desk, and reading lights.

7d/6n Komodo – Sample Itinerary
- Length of trip: 7 Days / 6 Nights
- Departure: Shuttle boat transfer departing at 10:00 from Labuan Bajo (approximately 90 minutes)
- Return: Shuttle boat transfer departing at 10:00 to Labuan Bajo (approximately 90 minutes)
- Dives: Approximately 18 dives
- Experience: Open Water Diver - at least 20 logged dives
- Snorkeling: Approximately 18 sessions
- Land excursions: Flying foxes/ Padar Island / Komodo dragons / Komodo Pink beach (land excursions may change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances)
- DAY 1: CENTRAL KOMODO (1/2 dives)
- After shuttle boat transfer to reach the Komodo Sea Dragon, guests will be able to freshen up in their cabins before a general and safety information briefing followed by lunch.
- First Dive/Snorkel at Sebayur Kecil
- The boat will sail to Pulau Kaaba near Rinca to discover the flying foxes or do a night dive at Wanilu
- Anchoring and overnight near Rinca.
- DAY 2: CENTRAL SOUTH (4 dives)
- Diving/Snorkeling at Pulau Pengah
- Diving/Snorkeling at Mawan or Siaba Besar
- The boat will then sail south to Padar for an afternoon dive/snorkeling at Secret Garden
- Night dive in Padar Bay
- Anchoring and overnight at Pulau Padar.
- DAY 3: PADAR ISLAND (3 dives)
- Wake up early morning and climb Padar for a fantastic panorama over the Komodo archipelago
- Diving/snorkeling at Padar Kecil
- We will sail further south for an afternoon dive at Nusa Kode
- Night dive a Torpedo point.
- Anchoring and overnight at Nusa Kode.
- DAY 4: SOUTH KOMODO “NUSA KODE” (3/4 dives)

- Depending on conditions, we will sail west to the tip of Komodo Island or stay the night in Nusa Kode.

- Depending on conditions we will sail further North East or anchor near Komodo Island for the night.
- DAY 7: LABUAN BAJO
- It will be time to bid farewell to the Komodo Sea Dragon and Crew. A shuttle boat transfer will depart at 10:00 to Labuan Bajo followed by a transfer to the airport or hotel.

- Experience: Open Water Diver - at least 20 logged dives
- Snorkeling: Approximately 12 sessions
- Land excursions: Padar Island / Padar Pink Beach / Rinca Island / Flying foxes (land excursions may change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances)
- DAY 1: CENTRAL KOMODO (2 dives)
- After shuttle boat transfer to reach the Komodo Sea Dragon, guests will be able to freshen up in their cabins before a general and safety information briefing followed by lunch.
- Dive/Snorkel at Sebayur Kecil
- The boat will sail to the North of Komodo for a night dive
- Anchoring and overnight at Crystal Bay.
- DAY 2: NORTH KOMODO (3/4 dives)
- We will stay the all day in this beautiful area of Komodo and offer diving (dependent on conditions) at:
- Castle Rock
- Crystal Rock
- The Cauldron or Golden Passage
- After the third dive, the boat will sail to Sabita bay (possibility for a night dive)
- Snorkeling activities will be also on the program for the non-divers.
- Anchoring and overnight in Sabita bay.
- DAY 3: CENTRAL & PADAR ISLAND (2/4 dives)
- 2 dives/snorkeling sessions will be planned in the morning:
- Tatawa Besar or Tatawa Kecil
- Manta Point
- We will then sail down to Padar Island to discover the most famous beach & viewpoint of the archipelago:
- Padar pink beach
- Padar viewpoint
- In case divers/snorkelers prefer to keep going in the water it will be organized accordingly.
- Anchoring and overnight at Padar.
- DAY 4: CENTRAL & RINCA ISLAND (2 dives)
- We will offer only two dives in the morning to allow a surface interval of 24 hours before flying:
- Mawan or Siaba Besar
- Pengah Kecil
- We will then sail further down for a truly memorable afternoon that includes:
- Rinca Island trekking (komodo dragons spotting)
- Kalong (Flying Foxes at sunset)
- Anchoring and overnight in Rinca area.
- DAY 5: LABUAN BAJO
- It will be time to bid farewell to the Komodo Sea Dragon and Crew. A shuttle boat transfer will depart at 10:00 to Labuan Bajo followed by a transfer to the airport or hotel.
7d/6n Alor – Sample Itinerary
- Length of trip: 7 Days / 6 Nights
- Departure: 11:00 from Kalabahi
- Return: Between 07:00 to 11:00 to Kalabahi (depending on guest’s flight time)
- Dives: Approximately 18 dives
- Experience: Open Water Diver – at least 20 logged dives
- Snorkeling: Approximately 18 sessions
- Land excursions: Local village / Secluded beaches discovery / Traditional whaling village of Lamalera / Pulau Lapang (land excursions may change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances)
- DAY 1: KALABAHI (2 dives)
- One of our team member will greet you at the airport or hotel and transfer you to the Komodo Sea Dragon.
- Depending on guest’s arrival time, a check dive and a night dive will take place.
- DAY 2 & 3: PANTAR STRAIGHT (~8 dives)
- Between the Islands of Kepa, Pura, Ternate & Buaya there are several dozen dive sites with an incredible variety of diving sceneries. Nutrient-rich adventurous currents for drift diving or sedimentary habitats for muck diving: the diversity of dive site formations make for an abundance of coral and fish, both big and small.
- We may visit a local village and replace a dive.
- The water temperature can vary greatly in this area. In the North the temperature is usually around 27°C and in the South it can vary from 21°C to 25°C. Currents can be extremely strong in the Pantar Strait, which usually makes for 30m-plus visibility.
- DAY 4: TREWEG & BEANBAGAN (4 dives)
- The dive sites at Treweg Island consist of rocky slopes covered in all sorts of soft corals, and where one can just drift looking for all kind of pelagic fish such as dogtooth tunas and giant trevallies.
- Beanbagan Bay is very different from the rest of Alor. The diving consists mainly of blackish and grayish sand which is the perfect environment to find all kinds of different critters. The water temperature in the south can vary from 21C to 25C.
- We will cruise overnight to the traditional whaling village of Lamalera in the south of Lembata Island.
- DAY 5: LEMBATA (4 dives)
- Day will start with a fringing reef in front of the whaling village of Lamalera and then sail to the small island of Suanggi, in the south of Kawula Island for the second dive. The waters surrounding Suangi are full of fish and it is also a place where sharks are usually spotted.
- We will then move for the afternoon dive to Boleng located right in front of Adonara Island and further north of Lembata for a muck night dive on Lewoleba bay.
- DAY 6: LEMBATA TO LAPANG (2 dives)
- We will start the day at Lewaling Bay, in the north of Kawula Island with the amazing scenery of the 2 volcanoes at each side of the bay. The diving here is very diverse, consisting of walls, slopes and muck dives with a good mix of large and small critters and lots of schooling fish. We will do our 2 last dives here to allow a surface interval of 24 hours before flying.
- After the second dive we will cruise to Lapang island for some amazing snorkeling and a relax afternoon. We will then head back to Kalabahi for the night.
- DAY 7: KALABAHI
- Check out in between 07:00 and 10:00 after breakfast. We will organize transfer to local hotel or airport.
- It will be time to bid farewell to the Komodo Sea Dragon and Crew.
