How to Get There
Guests are met at either the Kawthaung Airport (KAW) or the Ranong Airport (UNN). From there, a speedboat transfer departs from the Kawthaung pier taking the guests to the resort. The speedboat transfer takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Private transfers are also available for an additional supplement.
Dive Overview
The Mergui Archipelago is considered one of the world's best-kept secrets, with its doors only being opened to the public in 1997. The clear waters allow divers an excellent view of the diverse marine life below. Sharks and rays can also be seen in the well-known dive sites such as Burma Banks. However, the main attraction is the incredible variety of smaller fish and invertebrates which are not found in other waters.

Awei Pila offers guests tented villas, designed with lightweight and insulated timber and fabric. Allowing for decreased environmental impact, the structure also includes a terrace. Guests can choose between an experience of either the Andaman sea or the adjacent virgin forest.
The tented villas offer guests a light and fresh atmosphere with the whitewashed timber lattice and duck cotton fabric walls that cover the interior of the room. Natural light can be let in through the two large floor-to-ceiling openings, which provide a spectacular view of the resort's surroundings. The furniture and other decorative items are locally produced and complete a pleasant environment.

Diving in the mergui archipelago
Considered one of the world's best-kept secrets, the Mergui Archipelago lies off the far coast of Myanmar and is comprised of hundreds of islands surrounded by coral reefs and beaches.
The Mergui Archipelago contains an incredible diversity of species, with whale sharks and manta rays that frequent its waters, especially during the months of February and May. Orcas and infamous bull sharks have also been spotted along the archipelago. Oceanic whitetip sharks, nurse sharks, squirrelfish and snapper are also common sightings.
The Mergui Archipelago offers divers amazing dive sites such as Black Rock, where the steep walls make for exciting drift dives; and High Rock, known for the high density of fish that live in its reefs.
The islands have remained relatively isolated, and therefore provide an ideal scuba diving location for numerous species. Furthermore, much of the archipelago still remains to be explored.
